A bride called off her wedding and ended up doing something amazing with the money spent…

An Indiana woman didn’t want her canceled $30,000 wedding to go to waste, so she threw a dinner party for the homeless.

The swanky event center on Saturday saw about a dozen veterans from a local organization joining guests from homeless shelter coming together to dine on Bourbon-glazed meatballs, roasted garlic bruschetta, chicken breast with artichokes and Chardonnay cream sauce and wedding cake.

Sarah Cummins told the Indianapolis Star that she and her fiance called off the wedding a week ago. She declined to give a reason, but she said they were left with a nonrefundable contract for the Ritz Charles in Carmel and a plated dinner for 170 guests.

“For me, it was an opportunity to let these people know they deserved to be at a place like this just as much as everyone else does,” Cummins said to The New York Post.

Cummins said she decided that rather than throw away the food she would bring some purpose to the event and contacted area homeless shelters. She cheerfully greeted and welcomed her guests when they arrived Saturday.

Several local businesses and residents donated suits, dresses and other items for the guests to wear.

Charlie Allen, who’s spent three months at a homeless mission, received a donated jacket.

“I didn’t have a sport coat,” he said, tugging gently at the lapels. “I think I look pretty nice in it.”

Like other guests, Allen said he was grateful for the invitation.

“For a lot of us, this is a good time to show us what we can have,” he said. “Or to remind us what we had.”

Three of Cummins’ seven bridesmaids, along with her mother and aunts, came to support her at the event.

Cummins, a 25-year-old Purdue University pharmacy student, said her ex-fiance, Logan Araujo, footed most of the bill for the wedding contract, with Cummins and her parents, along with one of Araujo’s family friends, paying the rest. Cummins said that when she approached Araujo about donating the dinner, he agreed to what he believed was a selfless way to handle the situation.

Cummins said she is not sure yet what she will do with the wedding dress.

“It’s too painful to think about.”

Something very strange made this couple call off their Wedding…

This one trumps all levels of weird ( Although I feel that is only because we are used to the others ) as the groom and the bride called off their wedding over a debate on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This story is about an ex-couple, natives of Kanpur, in conversation began to talk about the current economic scenario in India.

The girl, a current government employee, obviously passionate about the subject blamed the current administration for what according to her was a sorry state of affairs. The groom would not have it, a businessman and a Modi supporter, he was quick to come to the government’s defense.

Now normally, a debate would turn into an argument, an argument into a fight, in this case, they called off their wedding! WTF!!!!

This adds to the increasing list of ‘bizarre’ reasons for which weddings have been called off in India.From bride’s IQ to groom’s fairness, from groom’s side demand of non-veg meals to bride’s objection on “naagin dance”, we have recently witnessed the most bizarre reasons for cancellation of marriage but we do not know what level of weird this is! 😀

There were 110 types of dishes from across the world. Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kapil Dev, Anil Ambani, along with several other famous celebrities were present at the event.

This artist has sketched out life with his girlfriend almost every day for 5 years and they are freaking awesome!

Pete Duffield met his girlfriend Kellie Gage 5 years ago and since then embarked on a quest to document their life through his sketches, so that their daughter Poppy.

“I started keeping a list of ideas on my phone whenever something funny happened,” Duffield told HuffPost. “The collection of drawings gradually grew and it was fun to document silly things we’d say or do.”

Duffield’s distinctly British sense of humour has garnered fans worldwide-Still, his favourite readers will always be Kellie and their baby girl.

“I still make the illustrations for Kellie  ― and Poppy now, for when she is older and can look back on them,” he said.

This couple handcrafted their entire wedding…Insane DIY ideas! Their cute dog was their Videographer.

When wedding photographers Cathy and Sebastian decided to tie the knot, they knew what they wanted. The couple got married in August last year and from the get go, the one thing that they focussed on was to enjoy the entire process and on making everything they needed by themselves!

Says Cathy, their wedding was relaxed, DIY and focussed on their friends and themselves and their Pinterest mood board was their main source of inspiration.

Cathy and Sebastian’s wedding ceremony was unique and was neither religious nor civil.It was guided by their friend Oscar who played a game with all guests singing an old song from their childhood called El Anillo (The Ring). Between each verse, their closest friends would read something to them and the song would continue.Then at the end, they exchanged Vows and Rings!

The catering was from Roberto Galvez Banqueteria, but amazingly by the guests themselves. Guests brought along desserts, salads and other amazing dishes to create a potluck. After lunch, guests grabbed a blanket and created a massive picnic dessert area of sorts.

If their wedding wasn’t already unique enough, the cherry on the cake was added by the bride’s homemade dress and the fact that their pet corgi, Leica was the videographer 😀

“We made almost everything by our own hands. We silkscreened table cloths, made concrete chandeliers and did all the floral arrangements. Also, we hired and hung all the Tuscan light bulbs and the pendants at the venue. For my wedding dress, I had bought a dress from Modcloth, but it didn’t fit me so I redesigned it with my friend Natalia. In the end, we only kept the top of the dress and were very lucky to find the same colour in a fabric store in Santiago for the bottom. I also made my headpiece with some crin flowers (a technique that uses horse hair to make the flower shapes)” says Cathy

The couple saved money by picking a venue which had never hosted a wedding before. It was a risk but luckily it worked out!

“The best thing about planning our wedding was being together, doing things for our friends and knowing that everybody was going to have such a good time that day”, she concluded. “The worst thing was not knowing who was going to be there or not, right up until the last minute we had guests confirming if they were coming or not!”

They advise future brides and grooms to try to enjoy the whole process. Enjoy every single thing about the wedding day, even the things that go wrong.

The laughter you’ll have together about it, days or months after the wedding, is amazing.

In retrospect, there was nothing they could have done differently. It turned out better than all that they thought it could be!
