Bora Bora Boracay

Bora Bora Boracay!

Are you a beach lover? Your idea of a perfect romantic getaway is to be sipping champagne while surrounded by crystal clear waters and white glistening sands? For all the tropical honeymooners out there, be informed that nothing could be more perfect than waking up on a bright, sunny morning in the charming Philippines. Boracay is one of the last undiscovered Asian beach escapes. A small island at 4.5 miles long, Boracay is small enough to navigate by rented bicycle or bike!

The Beaches

Even with it’s small expanse, Boracay has several world famous beaches to boast. White Beach, among these, is Boracay Island’s longest, most iconic and commercial strip. This place is a very important one on the Boracay bucket list. Voted one of the best beaches in the world, White Beach truly is a self-sufficient paradise, with 4 kilometres of white, pristine sand speckled with resorts, shops, and restaurants.

Yapak Beach, also known as Puka Beach, is famous for its numerous puka shells. The beach is known for its seafood, swarmed with restaurants serving the catch of the day. One great feature about Yapak Beach is that it’s not as commercial as White Beach, so it’s less crowded and leaves more opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the island. There are several other less commercial beaches around the place, ideal for the offbeat souls who like to steer away from the crowd.

Things to do

Boracay is an adventure-lover’s dream come true. Reef walking, scuba diving, parasailing, skimboarding, stand-up paddling and many more beach sports can be explored in abundance. Apart from that, you can do cliff diving, zorbing and ziplining, ATV rides, mermaid swimming, and loads more to satiate your appetite for adventure.

However, if you’re the kind who wants a vacation in the literal sense of the word and just wants to take it easy, then pick a less strenuous activity like swimming, golfing, or sailing or just recline by the beach and indulge in a glorious massage. There’s something for every type on this wondrous piece of land.

D’ Talipapa

The seafood paradise of Boracay, D’ Talipapa is a wet market that is surrounded by restaurants that offer cooking services for the fresh catches that you’ll find here. For those of you who don’t know the fast growing trend of “paluto” (meaning, “cooking service”) in the Philippines, you’re in for an experience you’ll cherish for a lifetime. Just seeing the range of seafood and fresh produce this market boasts will make your eyes pop out and mouth drool. And the best part? You get to have it tailored to your exact taste. So, get your tricycle ready and make your way to this food fantasy land.

Boracay will steal your heart in more ways than one. The breathtaking sunsets, the carefree sailing, the crazy nightlife, the sweetest locals, the happy-go-lucky tourists, the delectable food, the romantic setting, the natural beauty… the list goes on and on. However, the most striking quality about this wonderland is that you can create your own adventure and enjoy your stay in your own customized way no matter what your preferences are.

Are you convinced yet? Then come on over lovebirds, to the Philippines’ best kept secret.

How To Choose Bridal Jewellery That Flatters Your Face And Skin

C970_SET

*This blog has been re-blogged from http://www.bollywoodshaadis.com and written by Ms.Vriti Malik.

Jewellery is undoubtedly the most important part of a bride’s look on her wedding day. It is also the trickiest to choose, keeping in mind not just the current trends and personal taste, but also one’s face shape and skin tone. Yes, the bridal jewellery must be bought with complete attention to such details that you might ignore otherwise. To pick out the perfect bridal jewellery for your D-day, allow us to be your guide, and help you through your journey of buying the perfect wedding sets.

Understand Your Face Shape

It is important to understand your face shape, before you begin with your jewellery shopping. We are going to tell you about neckpieces and earrings styles that will flatter your face shape because maang tikkas are comparatively simpler to choose. To select a perfect one, keep your forehead in consideration. If you have a broad forehead, then safely go for a heavier maang tikka with a matha patti. If you have a small forehead, pick out a small tikka, and go for a small crystal bindi along with it.

Round-shaped face

article-201538913295148591000.jpg-final

Right kind of jewellery will help you to offset the roundness of your face. Pick a long necklace that extends below the neckline, along with chandelier earrings. Lay your hands on earrings in different shapes and cuts, like square or oval. Teardrop earrings would look best on you.

Better Avoid: Steer clear of round-shaped earrings, and even round cut diamonds or gemstones.

Oval-shaped face

article-201538913355548955000

Neither round nor long, this face shape is one where lots of versatility can be explored. You can flaunt long and short necklaces with equal aplomb. Play around with different styles of earrings, especially big hoops and danglers. While going for danglers, pick the ones that are angular in shape.

Better Avoid: Extra-long earrings are the only unsafe bet for you.

Rectangular-shaped face

Complement the length of your face with contrasting jewellery style. Choker-style necklace will look perfect on you, combined with short or round earrings. Even button earrings are a great choice. Basically, go for earrings that are soft and round.

Better Avoid: Do not ever go for hard angles like rectangular and square earrings.

Heart-shaped face

Since your chin area is narrower, go for shorter necklaces and chokers that lend a bit of roundness to your face. Danglers and teardrop earrings will give an elongated look to your face, and also ensure that the jawline does not look too sharp. Long cylindrical and triangular danglers are the ones you should be looking for.

Better Avoid: Stay away from small earrings and studs.

Understand Your Skin Tone

Skin tone does not only refer to being fair or dark. What we are talking about here is whether you are a warm-toned or a cool-toned person! Depending on this, the jewellery style that would suit you, will obviously differ.

Cool tone

If your veins appear bluish in colour, and your skin has a rosy undertone, then you are cool-toned person.

Diamonds are truly your best friends. Apart from that, choose metals, like platinum, white gold, silver, and Cubic Zirconis (CZ). They will look stunning on you.

article-2014491244429882000

When you wish to adorn a gemstone, look no further than white pearls, blue sapphires, ravishing rubies, exquisite amethysts, and striking deep emeralds. Also, do not shy away from embracing bright colours like pink, red, and purple that will make you look vivacious.

article-201538914152751327000

Warm tone

If your veins are greenish in appearance, and your skin has a golden sheen to it, then you have a warm skin tone.

Embrace yellow gold, kundan, or copper on your special day.

article-2014491245069906000

Talking of precious and semi-precious stones, go for colours like brown, yellow, orange, coral, turquoise, and olive. Golden pearls will also look great on you.

Some More Handy Tips:

  • If you do not wish to attract attention to your broad shoulders, avoid wearing brooches or an armband.
  • For any particular look, pick jewellery in one colour. Do not pick a red bracelet with blue earrings. It will end up looking tacky.
  • If your outfit is too sparkly, then go for subtle jewellery.
  • Do not let a piece of jewellery converge with another accessory or clothing. For instance, a necklace should not cover your studded waist belt, but rather end a few inches above it.

5 Drinking games for the unconventional bridal shower!

Planning a crazy bridal shower for someone you love, but can’t figure what games to have? Well look no further, we snooped around to figure what others are doing to help you plan the perfect bridal shower for your sweet!

Check them out:

Read His Mind

Before the couple become one, let’s find out how well she knows him! A week or two before the shower, ask the groom twenty revealing questions about himself! Questions can be saucy and/or sickly romantic: “If you could burn one thing in your groom-to-be’s closet, what would it be,” is just one example.

At the shower, ask the bride to guess the answer to each question. Then, play his videotaped response. Each time the bride gets it wrong, the bride takes a shot, the more questions she gets wrong, the more sloshed she gets!

Two Truths and a Lie

This is a great icebreaker for guests who are just getting to know each other. Each guest tells the group three experiences she has had with the bride or groom; two are true, one is a lie.

Guests then guess which one they think is a lie, the person who guesses wrong takes a shot 😀

First Kiss Bridal Shower Game

From butterfly kisses to full-on tongue kissing action, everyone has a great ‘first kiss’ story to tell! Starting with the bride, ask each guest to tell her first kiss story.

At the end, your guests vote on the funniest or most romantic story. A great twist is to have everyone tell two stories: one about their best kiss and another about their worst kiss. Each person takes a shot when they tell their worse story, the bride takes a shot for every great one!

Rib it on!

One of the best games is also a great ice-breaker and involves nothing but a piece of string. As your guests arrive, give them the ball of ribbon and scissors and instruct them to cut off as much as they think they want—and remain quiet when they ask, “Need for what?”

As the night progresses and everyone is nice and drunk — get everyone together and compare the length of each person’s ribbon ( you all know what this represents ladies!), starting with the shortest, each person drinks!

Tighty Whities!

Tighty whities have never looked this good! Ask everyone to write notes to the groom on a pair of men’s underwear. You can choose a theme like “dirty advice” or “sweet best wishes” or leave it up to your guests. Then, make the bride wear the tighty whities for the rest of the party.  As each message is read the person whose message it takes a shot with the bride!

This couple handcrafted their entire wedding…Insane DIY ideas! Their cute dog was their Videographer.

When wedding photographers Cathy and Sebastian decided to tie the knot, they knew what they wanted. The couple got married in August last year and from the get go, the one thing that they focussed on was to enjoy the entire process and on making everything they needed by themselves!

Says Cathy, their wedding was relaxed, DIY and focussed on their friends and themselves and their Pinterest mood board was their main source of inspiration.

Cathy and Sebastian’s wedding ceremony was unique and was neither religious nor civil. It was guided by their friend Oscar who played a game with all guests singing an old song from their childhood called El Anillo (The Ring). Between each verse, their closest friends would read something to them and the song would continue. Then at the end, they exchanged Vows and Rings!

The catering was from Roberto Galvez Banqueteria, but amazingly by the guests themselves. Guests brought along desserts, salads and other amazing dishes to create a potluck. After lunch, guests grabbed a blanket and created a massive picnic dessert area of sorts.

If their wedding wasn’t already unique enough, the cherry on the cake was added by the bride’s homemade dress and the fact that their pet corgi, Leica was the videographer 😀

“We made almost everything by our own hands. We silkscreened table cloths, made concrete chandeliers and did all the floral arrangements. Also, we hired and hung all the Tuscan light bulbs and the pendants at the venue. For my wedding dress, I had bought a dress from Modcloth, but it didn’t fit me so I redesigned it with my friend Natalia. In the end, we only kept the top of the dress and were very lucky to find the same colour in a fabric store in Santiago for the bottom. I also made my headpiece with some crin flowers (a technique that uses horse hair to make the flower shapes)” says Cathy

The couple saved money by picking a venue which had never hosted a wedding before. It was a risk but luckily it worked out!

“The best thing about planning our wedding was being together, doing things for our friends and knowing that everybody was going to have such a good time that day”, she concluded. “The worst thing was not knowing who was going to be there or not, right up until the last minute we had guests confirming if they were coming or not!”

They advise future brides and grooms to try to enjoy the whole process. Enjoy every single thing about the wedding day, even the things that go wrong.

The laughter you’ll have together about it, days or months after the wedding, is amazing.

In retrospect, there was nothing they could have done differently. It turned out better than all that they thought it could be!

Says Simran, who married her beau Hiren at  Munjoh resort,” Right from the onset we were certain that we didn’t want a run of the mill wedding. We both have respect for traditions but both felt that Indian weddings tend to be an unnecessarily drawn out affair. Something that just didn’t appeal to us. Since our location was so stunning, a lot of our activities were centered on the beautiful beach where we got married”

Although Simran warns,”The islands are still fairly untouched by commercialization so there are actually no decorators available there!  I anyway dislike a lot of decoration and wanted the kind of more organic stuff that was around when my parents got married. Simple genda and mogra decoration, which the resort staff pulled off beautifully!”

She adds,”As a token of thanks, we took everyone scuba diving after the wedding. In fact one of my cousin’s proposed to his girlfriend under water, he had a ring and everything! And we arranged for champagne for them when they got out”

You will not believe how this Indian bride blended her Indian tradition with her husbands Texas Charm!

When Priya Sambasivan met Ryan Foster through OkCupid, the first meeting lasted 7 hours! The connect was so strong, it seemed like a glove fitting over one’s hand. In Priya’s words,”The date felt like a long, slow exhale of breath I’d been holding for years”.

“We just fit together,” says Ryan. “We had similar values and philosophy of living but enough differences to help each other grow. She laughed at my stupid jokes, and my jaw dropped when I saw how beautiful she was.”

Two years later, the couple was tying the knot at the Hamilton Station Vineyards in North Virginia and it is just amazing how they blended each others culture and tradition within their wedding!

Everything from Priya’s dress to the wedding ceremony to the food was just fabulous as seen in the photos 🙂

Inside Pippa Middleton’s wedding reception!

Yes!  Pippa Middleton, the world’s most famous bridesmaid is married to financier James Matthews and unlike what everyone imagined, this was not a royal wedding but the one Pippa envisioned and specifically designed. And we have some beautiful photographs thanks to her florist Drojde Verda.

“They said all along they wanted it to be a private family wedding at home in the beautiful countryside with their closest friends and family.”

British designer Giles Deacon created a custom masterpiece of a gown which was stunning, to say the least.  Little Prince George was the pageboy and Princess Charlotte was the bridesmaid.

Princess Kate recited the prayer during the ceremony at St.Marks Church in Englefield and the wedding program featured a drawing of the church sketched by Kate herself.

After the church ceremony, the 150 ceremony guests filed into the nearby Englefield House for a midday reception, where they dined on mini haggis, deer carpaccio with mushroom, fresh langoustine claws and asparagus with Hollandaise sauce.

An afternoon break preceded the evening celebrations which were held in a glass palace shipped all the way from Belgium. 350 guests including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in attendance

Guests sipped champagne while watching a light show filled with projections of Middleton and Matthews’s love story on the side of the Middleton family home and tennis pro-Roger Federer took on William and Harry in a doubles game of Ping-Pong.

And what an evening it was!
